About me

Hi, my name is Ray and I have a real passion for all things food.

I started cooking on the Island of Sark in the Channel Islands 15 years ago, this is where I got my first taste of amazing fresh produce and quickly decided that being in the kitchen is where I would hone my career.

 

I travelled through Asia and the Americas learning many different cuisines and techniques cooking for various restaurants. Whilst living in Australia I won the best steak sandwich award in western Australia and I studied to gain my commercial cookery certificate.

 

After living in Australia and New Zealand I moved to the Isle of mull, in Scotland where I spent a year as head Chef of a small Boutique hotel using only the best local organic produce and some of the best seafood in the world.

 

Moving on from Scotland I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I was part of a successful restaurant opening and often held private dining events for my own company whilst living there for four years. 2019 I Spent the summer living in Cornwall working for the amazingly talented Chef, Paul Ainsworth at the Mariners in Rock, Cornwall. This is where I gained vast experience and confidence to setup my own business.

Ray's Kitchen, Naphill cooked and delivered over 2000 meals in 2021/22.

Package prices include sourcing ingredients, providing tableware (plates, glasses, cutlery) and travel to any location within the Home Counties.

I take bookings by phone and email and could travel to most parts of the UK; please note that travel expenses will be charged for areas further afield.

We loved our meal again on Friday thank you! Loved the guinea fowl - it was so tender and tasty, perfect accompaniments in the beetroot and amazing potato and thyme gratin! Thoroughly enjoyed by us all and the apple tart tatin was delicious too.
